This version of a reconstructed video of Juno's Europa flyby in real-time is based on four raw JunoCam images taken between about 2022-09-29T09:38 and 2022-09-29T09:41, and on data collected by Juno's Waves instrument during the same Europa flyby. The flyby took place during the in-bound branch before Juno's Perijove 45 flyby.

The soundtrack is derived from JunoCam image data for the first part, and from data of Juno's Waves instrument collected during the Europa flyby for the second part of the video. For this, the data were substantially reduced and translated into a spectrogram. Without that lossy data reduction, the sound would have been even noisier. The spectrogram was subsequently translated into an audio file.

The video starts at Europa's night side, where the brightness was so low that the camera retrieved mostly low-level image noise. After about 30 seconds, Europa's dayside comes into the rendered field of view, with all its complex linear structures on the moon's icy crust.

Jupiter's moon Europa is the major target of interest for NASA's (as of 2024-10-06) scheduled Europa Clipper mission.
