The PJ68 images of Io show that a huge new eruption has occurred since PJ66, near the south pole. Here is a set of images from PJ60 to PJ68, in which you can see the change at PJ68. There is a new black spot, presumably the vent, just 'below' Crimea Mons, and a large irregular brown annulus around it, presumably deposits from the eruption.
