PJ31 image 10: North Pole at Minimum Emission Angle

An approximately true color/contrast version of image PJ31_10 (left) and a heavily processed enhanced version (right) showing Jupiter's north polar region.

In the enhanced version the processing parameters are different for different parts of the image. Special processing was used to make very faint haze bands more visible. A long haze band extends from the top of the image to the left edge just above center. Another fainter band extends from the lower right almost to the left edge of the image below center. It's possible that this is an 'extension' of the brighter haze band in the upper half of the image but this is not obvious from this image.
